We guarantee that websites on our platform will have an average uptime of 99.9%, rising to 99.99% for mission-critical sites on our high traffic plans. An uptime of 99.99% means a maximum of just 8 seconds of downtime in a day.

Where we are unable to meet this high standard, for every hour that your website is down for, depending on your plan, we will refund you up to 10 times what you paid us for that hour.

Our platform utilises multiple layers of threat detection and mitigation to prevent malicious users from accessing your website. These are done at the network, CDN and server-level - making them much more effective (and faster) than any plugin-based security app.

A CDN is a network of servers distributed around the world that store content closer to your website's visitors, reducing latency. CDNs serve up cached content so that the origin servers don't have to deliver the same content over and over.

All our plans come with unlimited "CDN Bandwidth" - i.e. the transfer of content from the CDN servers to the visitors. We do however limit the amount of content transferred from the origin server to the CDN, or to visitors who bypass the CDN, to prevent abuse.

Websites on our platform have yet to ever hit these limits. But should your website require it, we can double this limit without cost.

We don't provide email as a part of our service. All of our resources are committed to making SonicWP the best WordPress platform in the industry.

For email services, we always recommend Google Workspace. It is feature-packed, at a great low price and allows you to use your own domain name. It's the platform we use for our own emails. Let us know if you would like us to set this up for you.

All our plans do however come with a transactional email allowance - that's for emails sent via forms/events on your WordPress website.

While we believe our plans are well suited for most websites, there will of course be instances when you need extra allowances.

We have no overage charge for Bandwidth or CDN Bandwidth usage; no overage for the extra server resources if you come under a DDOS attack; no overage for infrequently exceeding your monthly visits limit by up to 20%.

The most common overages that we charge:

• Additional Transactional Emails
• Additional Coding Support

These are charged on a monthly/one-off basis as you need them.

Our platform and systems are closely integrated with Cloudflare, a leading global CDN provider. We also utilise WordPress.com as a secondary CDN provider.

All websites on SonicWP automatically get a free Cloudflare account, that is configured, maintained and monitored by us. If you already have a Cloudflare account, you can use your existing account.

If you wish, you can opt-out of the Cloudflare integration and use your own.

All websites on our platform are issued a free SSL certificate, that is renewed and managed by us. And if your website isn't already utilising https, our support team will help you make https the default for your website.

We issue all websites on our platform with a free SSL certificate. It is renewed and maintained by us, at no cost to you. As such, there is no need for you to use your own SSL certificate.

If you wish to use your own SSL certificate, our support team can help you install it. But please be advised that you will have to manually renew it every 12 months.

The visits number listed on our plans are estimates based on our assumptions about how much server resource your website will require to serve a visitor.

It is our experience that efficient websites will be able to serve the number of visits we estimate for each plan.

Our aim is to ensure your website loads as fast as possible and is as reliable as possible. To that end, we not only ensure that the server hardware is able to handle the traffic to your website, we also actively edit your website's coding - making it lean and efficient.

Of course some websites are resource hogs and simply can't be made efficient enough to serve that much traffic. If your website is consistently exceeding the CPU and RAM allocated to it, and our engineers are unable to make the site efficient, you may be required to upgrade to a higher plan.

Our plans are designed for one WordPress website each. SonicWP is not just a hosting company - it is a fully managed WordPress platform - where we not only "rent" you server space, but actively manage and maintain the code and security of your website.

As such, we are unable to perform our service if there are multiple websites in your account - no matter how secure we make your primary website, any other website in the account could potentially be the security hole a malicious user might exploit.

We allocate system resources based on our various plans, but the exact amount of the underlying CPU and RAM allocated to each account can and does vary.

We track the visits as recorded by our platform (network, server, CDN, etc) - not via a Javascript-based tracker (such as Google Analytics).

As such, the traffic recorded at the platform level will usually differ from that recorded on website-based trackers like Google Analytics.
